Konan Machi's
Miyo Winter
Festival

A shot of my town up river.

A shot of my town down river. See the festival
preparation on the right?

A closer view of it.

This is the back of the cram school in town. Not
the truck, the building.

The bigger stack. Can you see what's in the
pile?

Bottles of sake for the gods.

And some little wooden things with wishes or
something.

The two stacks, make and female.

A Shinto priest prepares something.

The chants, bows, chants, says something, waves
some twig at people, chants, bows, etc.

The smaller one is lit.

A student shows up with big holes in her jeans.

What are those people doing on the bridge?

Hurry Ryan sensei, let's catch tangerines.
For the record, the tangerines really hurt. I
would bend over to pick up one and get pelted by another.

Ah, they lit the big one. Why don't I have more
pictures?

I didn't have time to get my camera out.
Everyone was filling up my glass(es) with sake.

Here I am holding one and the other is on the
ground.

My bag of tangerines.

The second pile is almost gone.
