Adobe Mud Brick Making at BaanDada.org
A view of the field of mud bricks drying in the sun. They will be used for the kindergarten.
First you mix mud, water, and some stringy material in a big hole and dance around in it.
A close up of the wet brick.
Another wide shot of them drying.
Once they have dried for 4 days in the hot sun they can be stacked to save space.
First mud is pushed into a mold, which is really just some wood built to the dimensions of the bricks.
The mold is lifted and the basic wet brick is stays put. The mud isn't too wet to begin with.
Then they sit in the hot sun for 4 days (or more if time permits).
Once they dry they get rather strong. They are only used for protective walls, not weight bearing loads.
You can see concrete poles are used for supporting the roof, and the mud bricks are used for the walls.
