Japanese Pagoda
There is something very Japanese about the pagoda. These first two are from Asakusa in Tokyo and the bottom one is from Nikko.

These particular pagodas are of the Abe style, commonly referred to as Abe Pagodas.

They are really not called Abe Pagodas, that was a stupid joke. Get it, Abe Vigoda...
The Nikko Pagoda, as well as others possibly, is
said to be only sitting on the ground
and it uses a hanging pendulum type thing to counter balance earthquakes.
